Bouchard is shockingly unseeded this tournament, after having a terrible 2015 after an amazing 2014 in which she was a semifinalist or better in all four majors. I wonder whether she threw matches because she was offered money, as part of this match-fixing scandal. Her 2015 ended with a literal epitome of what had happened figuratively throughout the year: she fell.
