Using East Coast media bias to turn a non-story into a story

Blog post here: http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4731167/why-the-cowboys-pushed-back-practice?ex_cid=espnapi_public

The Cowboys practice on the West Coast in Oxnard, CA, making it not at all strange for them to start practice at "8:15 p.m. ET." Note that not once in the post is it mentioned (for the casual fan's sake) that the Cowboys practice on the West Coast where it was a perfectly reasonable time of 5:15 at practice's start. Sunset in Oxnard tonight was at 7:55 (10:55 p.m. ET). The post seems overly intent in acting shocked at the "late" start time, and I'm surprised Garrett even answered such questions or was even asked them about a 5:15 practice.

The article also assumes the reader is in the Eastern Time Zone (or perhaps the Central) when starting "By the time you read this, you probably have had dinner, watched the nightly news and are settling in for your favorite TV show, especially if you are a multi-tasker. " which was posted at 7:45/6:45c. By then continuing into "The Cowboys have yet to start their practice. " the post tries to draw a connection between the reader's dinnertime and the Cowboys' practice time, where there isn't one, especially because the (assumed) location of the reader and the location of the practice are 3 time zones apart. Even if the events were happening the same time zone, it is a non-issue for practice time to be happening after dinnertime. The two are completely unconnected, and this article only serves to continue to show the media's bias towards the East Coast, solely for the purpose of writing a blog post about nothing.

I understand that by this post, I may also be accused of turning a non-issue into an issue for the sake of a post, but I do think this is an issue. East Coast media bias needs to stop.
